Original C2 Seat Covers

Hi guys! How does one determine the originality of vinyl seat covers? Surprisingly, I couldn't find any info in the archives. A while back I saw a set of vinyl seat covers on ebay being sold as NOS. The seller claimed they were date ink stamped on the inside of the covers. Are originals date stamped?

If they go more than a set from Al Knoch what are you going to gain? Plus, if there is a problem with the covers what recourse do you have? With Al Knoch covers you have a respected vendor that will stand behind his product versus a ebayer that might tell you "buyer beware"

On my original 65 vinyl covers, there is a difference on the heat seal seams from Al's covers. I have a set of both and can tell the diff. FWIW.

My 67 leathers are dated about 2 months early. If they are NOS, I would wonder about the lifespan left. Are they drying out, have they shrunk, is the stiching still ok?

The NOS set on ebay was sold months ago. It was not the correct color for my car, but I just remember the comment that there was a date ink stamp on the inside. Not much info on the seat covers in the JG. I am planning on having the car judged in the Spring. If the repros can be detected during judging, then it would be advantageous to have a set of originals.
