    Advise please on paint

I am attempting to paint the interior/exterior colors on NOS metal Pinchwelt for my coupe. It has been sanded & cleaned. When I remove masking tape to do second color the 1st. color lifts off. What do I use to prime with? Thanks, Don

Reclean the part... probably still some residue of some sort on it. Then prime with a primer, compatible with final color paint. Paint exterior color on the whole piece. Bake in oven at about 175 deg for about an hour. Let the part sit for a week or so. Use green masking tape.... not the blue or tan. Green has a lower adhesion and is made for automotive. Paint the interior color. Let it dry so it isn't tacky and remove tape. Bake in oven for about 1 hour. Let it set for a day or two and carefully install. Don't forget to paint the screws that hold these babies in place the body color...

    Good luck
