    Rad. Hose Help C2 - 3906615 vs. 3906616

My rev. 6-79 Parts book, in group 1.159 - HOSE, Radiator Intake, does not list 3906615, but shows the next number (3906616) for 66-67 427 and also for 68 427 W/H.D.

They look very similar, but the lower number (3906615) has just a bit more angle to it. Looks like it might reach the top of the manifold (or the radiator) just a bit more easily, if used in place of the other one.

I'm surprised these look so similar. I'm clearly seeing 615 on the end of the number (on the hose itself), so I'm quite sure they are different parts.

Perhaps the ...616 was used in a consolidation effort. Does anyone know the application of the ...615 version?

    Thanks in advance.

    Tom-----

Hose GM #3906616 is a SERVICE only upper hose applicable to 1966 Corvettes with K-19. It repleced PRODUCTION and earlier SERVICE hose GM #3887153 when that hose was discontinued in December, 1966.

GM #3906615 is the PRODUCTION and SERVICE upper radiator hose for 1967 Corvettes, except 1966 Corvettes with K-19. It replaced the 1966 427 except K-19 hose, GM #3882825, when that piece was discontinued in November, 1966. I would not expect there to be very much difference between the 3906616 and 3906615 hoses.

The GM #3906615 hose was discontinued in February, 1978 and replaced by the GM #3906616. Apparently, GM felt that the 3906616 could be used to SERVICE all 1966-67 Corvette 427 applications.
