C2: How to distinguish '65 from '66 steel wheels

Short of the date codes, which are not visible once a tire is mounted to the wheel, how does one distinguish 1965 KH steel wheels from 1966? What about the two small "nubs" by the valve stem, or the "GM" stamping between two of the lugs?

Also, are these wheels unique to Corvettes, or are there any other wheels that are close enough in appearance to be mistaken (or misrepresented) as '65 or '66 Corvette wheels.

Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.

I recently had a set of 4 wheels that had a mixture of very low mileage original 65 and 66 Corvette steel wheels. They were identical in every way except the date code. They did have the nubs on both sides of the valve steam hole similar to 63/64 wheels.

I believe these were a Corvette only application.

There are passemger car wheels that look the same except they have center cap retainers.
