I went to a local cruise last night and the car ran great. On the way home I stopped for a traffic light and when I went to pull out the car stumbled and backfired throught the carb. I had about another five miles to get home and it was running rather poorly. All indications are that it blew the power valve. The idle speed is up and it is running rich at idle. I removed the air cleaner and put a finger over the vertical vent and the car died immediately. I am going to rejet the carb with the correct jets when I replace the power valve. Can improper jetting contribute to the power valve failure? I know what size they are but I am not familiar witht the correct power valve to install. It is a stock 4150 carburetor. All expertise is appreciated.
