    Yup, the "boomerang" shields have to come off to route/install the new wires for #1-#3 and #2-#4; removing one motor mount bolt won't cause any problem - there are three of them attaching the mount to the block. The 2-gauge cable you mentioned is the engine-to-frame ground cable - Lectric Limited has them.

      Thanks John - big help with your tip. Just installed the 4 on the driver side. Will start passenger side next week.

        Why not cut the boot off your old wire attach it with black tape to the new wire with the distribeter boot remove and gently pull the old wire up while somebody under the car gently guides the wire thru the shielding and motor mounts. Replace the distributer boot and your done. I did it on mine and saved half a days work.
