My gage is always running between 50-60 PSI and I know this has been discussed a lot in the past as it seems to be a common problem but can someone tell me the reason (most likely) why the actuals are so high?

You call that high? Mine
idles at that pressure range, and even when hot, it runs pegged at 90psi+. Before you say "high pressure TRW pump", you should know it has been like that for 50 years. Since the rings are lubed with splash oil coming out of the crankshaft, no. In fact, low pressure due to worn bearings would probably expose your rings to MORE oil.- Top
