Right side fresh air vent cable

Can anyone please describe to me the exact routing of the cable for the right (passenger) side fresh air vent? I've looked in the AIM and Shop Manual and it almost looks like it is showing it routed behind the vent grill, but surly this can't be. As always, I appreciate any and all help. Thanks.

The cable attaches to the right vent coming out of that area toward the rear of the car. The cable then does a lazy loop over and between the firewall and the heater box coming out under the heater box aligned with the vent pull location on the radio sidepanels. The cable will probably lay in the channel below the glove box as it starts its loop. Just put mine in yesterday..
