I'm ready to put the dash of my car back together and the first step will be installation of the firewall insualtion and sound deadener. I am having a hard time figuring out how to position the sound deadener. I've fiddled with it for quite a while and can't seem to get it right on the driver's side (there are several holes on the other side that help line it up). There wasn't any there to start with so I can't use the original as a guide. The AIM isn't very helpful either. Where does the top or bottom edge line up? Anyone have any pictures of how this goes? Thanks.

Re: 1964 firewall insulation and sound deadener
I just did my 63 a month or so ago. Assuming they are similar, I worked from the fuse box and over. I used a nut-driver that fit inside of the rubber plugs to push them through the firewall and worked my way across left to right. I had to work it a little, but it made the holes with a little massaging. I then went to the engine compartment side and made sure the plugs came all the way through (just a little tug with a pair of pliers).
The wire for the dimmer switch goes underneath the insulation.
Again, not sure if were talking apples to apples here, but this worked in my case.
