Bored !! I'm looking over my judging slip from Park City and noticed I took a hit on the Temp. sender NOT having a USA make logo in it. I've NEVER seen a USA logo on any sender in 35 years of owning many 53-55 Corvettes and CARS. how did this get in to the judging Manuel??
53-55 Temp sender????

Re: 53-55 owners? only 2 or 3 people active here
This is a result of someone OJ on a 53-55 at either a chapter or regional and the judge at that time said the sending units had a logo on it. Probably the judge had most of their experience in judging 56-62 straight axel cars. On those cars, at least 58-62, I know the temp sending unit had the AC MADE IN USA stamped upside down just above the threads. Then with additional judging experience on various cars, this information gets passed on down through time, and eventually becomes gospel in the JM. Assumptions are made and then it seems logical, then it becomes part of the judging manual.
This is the one unfortunate things about NCRS. Having said that, it still is the best source of information on the cars.

Mine is original, and as best I
remember, has no markings at all. Of course, it is a bulb style self-powered gauge, so it does not have what you would traditionally call a "sending unit", since the bulb in the intake manifold is part of the gauge itself. I'll be taking a close look tonight.- Top
