I know this subject has been discussed many times on the board, however, I would like to get some additional information. I am about to repaint the dash, cluster panel and glove box on my 66 coupe. It has been stated many times to use Krylon #1613 for this. I sprayed a test strip with #1613 and found it to have a charcoal grey tinge which I didn't like. Is there any alternative paint people have used and been happy with? Addtionally, do you use the same paint on the cluster and glove box or use a glossy? I appreaciate the feedback. Clark #42490.

Re: C2 Dash Repainting
Another consideration is to check out www.autocolorlibrary.com... For '66 and '67 Corvette, the 'page two' color chip info isn't in the library. However, it IS there for '63-65 and it details what color was used where for interior components and you'll see Corvette is DIFFERENT from other Chevy passengers cars... Especially, check out the 1965 entry in the library as you'll see not only are the colors specified for what/where by blend code, but the specific gloss factor is defined!- Top

Re: C2 Dash Repainting
John Deere Blitz Black for the gauge cluster and glove box looks like just the right level of glossiness (not too much)for my '64 and is black. Not sure if '66 was "flatter". I'm in the midst of doing mine and test sprayed this against the Krylon and a couple of other interior blacks. Don't remember if the '66 housing has any chrome edges, but if so clean them gently as the chrome will come off w/too much elbowgrease.- Top
