    printing posts

    Hello All,
I am restoring a '72 BB. Doing a frame off. I have many things going on at once and many things planned for the future. I often run accross post, like the recent carpet install, that I do not need now but would like to have available later. I also post questions that I would like to print the responces from and keep records of. Is ther a way to print these post from the forum in an effective manner. Right now I have be copying each post and pasting it into a Word Doc. then printing. This is time intensive.

    Thank you,
    Brandon

PS to those with a '72 and plan on driving this weekend give me a quick thought. I am still to far away from such pleasures to tease myself with the thought.

I drag the cursor with the right mouse button held down over the post. That highlites the post. Then click on print, click selected tehn print again.

        Why Print

Or, simply save the Word documents for latter reference and possible addition of more posts on the same topic.

Choose the option to remove frames form this board, then click "View All" on the topic and print from browser. It will print out every response.

            Re: Why Print

Same here. I just keep my own Archive, adding one post after the next, and "search" for the appropriate word when I want to look something up.

Actually most posts I divide into sections like front suspension, rear suspension, paint, etc.

            Why print?

'"Why Print" so when the puter craps I still have it.'

Computer craps - that's why you back up daily. Right?

'But then again with this vast archive why print or save?'

Several reasons: 1) Even with the upgrade, the search function is not all that friendly. 2) No guarantee the archive will be maintained in the future. 3) This board is one of many, like having a single library for all posts of interest.

                    Re: Why Print

Hard copies of tech info come in handy in the shop (where I have no computer). More than once have I found it real useful to have my 3 ring binder (chock full of the tips received from this site) right there with my car as I work my punch list.

                      Re: Why Print

I save mine regularly to CD. I also run 2 hard drives, and one is used for backup only.

So, I'm not excessively worried about computer crap out.

That's why I have a wireless system in my house. I can move my old laptop to the garage and run a program, access my home network, or surf the net for information.
