C3 - Battery Dead

I have a 1971 454 365HP manual trans Corvette. Here is what happened:

A) I let it sit all week under no charge.
B) Start it Saturday with no problem and go to a car show.
C) It sits for 5 hours.
D) When I go to leave it won't start, battery is dead.
E) I jump start it and take it home and let it sit.
F) It sits for 2 days and it just started right up.

Any ideas what could have gone wrong at the car show?

Jim - obviously some heavy current drain was occuring temporarily at the show. Ruling out the obivious things like leaving lights on, I think of things like footwell lights, etc, that if a switch did not function correctly they stay on etc. Temporary problems can be frustrating to diagnose....but I would also check now for any current drain when off with an inductive current meter. They can be a great tool to find branch circuits that are drawing current and help diagnose problems big time......Craig

Have you checked your windshield wiper override knob? the owners manual says that if left in the wrong position it will cause the battary to drain.
