    Don -

The documented "banking" of castings for '67 327/300's was for the intake manifold, not the block. I'd be inclined to agree with the judge on an August block in a March car with a high-volume base engine.

      Agree.

      "Could" it happen?
      Yes.

      "Would" it happen?
      Not likely.

Usual date variation for a 300hp block is closer to 2 weeks, not 7 months. I would take a close look at the stamp pad to see if that seemd to be real or not. One fo the unusual circumstances would be if the "first" original motor in your car blew at St. Louis and then replaced at the factory (but I'd still expect a March block) OR if this block went through repair in its life (likely pre-assembly) and didn't enter the production pipeline until months later. I suspect John could comment more on this.

        Here's my 2 cents
This is from a friend's car who is the original owner. His 67 was calculated to be built on 2-14-67 (tank sheet says 2-17), it is a base motor car. Engine is cast A257 (Jan 25, 67). Engine is stamped Feb 8. Intake is cast F136 (June 13, 66).

          Rich -

That fits the survey pattern perfectly - had LOTS of F 13 6 intakes on 1967 calendar year-built cars.
