    Tool help 265 engine

Any one in the Corvette world have the tool that was available years ago to AID in replacing the rear main seal ROPE TYPE for sale or to be loaned out ? I need to replace my 55 Corvette 113000.00 mile engine rear main seal. While in Park City to be judged they put me and only me on a cement walk way and sure I have an oil leek and lost some points , but I do need to replace it.

Roy, That would be the tool that has a basket weave type of attachment (like the old "Chinese handcuffs") that grips the rope seal harder as the tool is pulled. It has a "T" handle on the other end.

Roy, I just read Don's description of the tool and I think you might be able to inprovise a similar "tool". Go to an electrical supply house and ask to see their smallest "Kellum" grip for pulling wire through a raceway(conduit). I believe that it just might work. Check it out.

Roy, I'm quite sure this old fart has one and I'll check to make sure when I get home.
I put a neoprene rear seal in my 56 and it worked great. No leak in over four years. Rob
