    1965 Parking Brake Handle

When turning the parking brake handle to the right to release the brake, should
the handle only turn 90 degrees and stop? Mine turns a full 360 degrees. It seem it should have a stop but I don't recall there being anything from a few years ago when I dismantled it. Thanks for your help.

      Dave and Don,
Definately not correct. The handle will rotate approximately 90 degrees clockwise when released. I believe that you are missing a pin assembly with an approx. 1/2 by 1/2 inch head. This pin assembly is pressed into a hole in the rod. The square head acts as an actuator for the parking brake light switch. Hope this helps.

      Good luck,
      Gene

The handle should not turn 360 degrees, just 90.

There should be a pin at the lower part of the shaft that stops it from spinning 360 and also turns off the E-Brake light on the dash.

If your handle spins, the light should be on all the time, assuming all is well with the electrics.

I appreciate your help. I think I see the pin you are talking about in LI Corvette Supply's catalog. That makes more sense to me. Thanks a bunch to all.

            Dave,
You are on the right track. In the LIC catalog #23, you are looking for item number 07B (Handle stop pin). Glad we've helped you a little.

            Best regards,
            Gene
