C2 Vehicle history

I would like to get history on my 66 Vette (selling dealer/subsequent owners etc).

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

It's a pain staking task of contacting your State's motor vehicle registration authority, seeing what information is available and working backwards. The process ususally crosses State lines and winds up in MANY dead ends because prior owners have moved, changed names, Etc....

I once tried to get information from CA dept of motor vehicles on a 64 Corvette that I bought in CA, titled in my name in CA, and was still a CA titled car when I sold it. I sold it in 69 and tried to get information in 88 or 89. I did not have the VIN and was unsuccessful in getting any information with giving the name it was titled in for a search. Wish I would of had been successful.
