Can someone please tell me how you remove the filter screen on the end of the fuel sending unit. I am trying to rebuild the sender and the screen is falling apart. Thanks in advance.

If it's the part I'm thing of that looks like a small nylon "bag" with a metal ring at the end, then it's attachement slides on over the tube. I have removed them before but they go on and off very securely and tight. It helps greatly if the sending unit is out of the tank. TBarr #24014 -

I just replaced my sending unit; the new one came with a nylon-looking bag over the tube end that, I believe, just twists off. If you need another screen I have the one from my old sending unit, still in very good shape. I know it twists off because I took it off by just turning it in my hand and pulling out.Comment
