Re: restore my 65 Coupe rocker panels
Hi Mark,
Like most anything, there is a point of dimishing return when considering restoration of your rocker panels. These things have been heat treated to resist dents and dings from road debree. While this helps resist normal run of the mill stuff, it really complicates the issue when it's time to straighten out damaged panels if they actually have a "real" dents. Depending on severity, the panel can crack when an attempt is made to straighten out the problem.
If they are straight enough to suit you and do not have a high degree of "road blast" damage, they can be stripped of the OEM finish, sanded, buffed and then the OEM finish can be reapplied.
The whole process can be pretty time consuming and initial condition will determine final costs. I know the guy pretty well that restored the 63 rockers in this pic. If I told you who it was here in this post, I'd probably be in violation of the rules of this board...
You can email me directly for more information.

I'm pretty sure it's the same guy who did some incredible work for me. He did my hubcaps and windshield molding and it looks as good as new.

Who's the restorer? It's OK to tell.
Guys,
As far as I know it's not against the DB rules to say who does good restoration work. So, who's the person who so good at restoring rocker panels and windshield trim. Inquiring minds want to know.

I guess not wanting to toot his own horn, Tracy was responsible for the incredible work on my hubcaps and windshield molding. I've also seen the work he has done on Rocker Panels and they look like the picture (which he took). Great to deal with, reasonable pricing, and treats your good like his he would treat his own.
The hubcaps in the pic below were full of dings, scratches, and dull. Tracy removed the dings and dents, buffed/polished, then had them flashchromed. Same with the windshield molding. He was able to do my hubcaps when other larger vendors/restorers said they could not be done.
