Need to replace mine. Like most other confusion with the 70 350 differences, heres the part numbers from the catalog:
69 y(350) (exc, sp.h/per)--- 3946093
69-70 y(350) (w/sp. h/per)------ 3887148
70 y(350) (exc. sp.h/per)----- 3973497
I think that 3973497 is the correct piece for the 70 L-46.
However, I listed the 69 applications because there are two listed for the only two 350's in 69. The base engine and the L-46. Neither use a Holley. I assume from the 69 info that 3946093 is for the base engine, and 3887148 is for the 69 L-46. But since that application also lists as 1970, wouldn't that make it for the 70 L-46 as well? Then the 3973497 would be a base 70, 350. Problem with that logic is that there then is no application for the (sp. h/per) 1970.(LT1)
Throwing all that out the window, and going with my first thought, I think that maybe the 3887148 is the Holley,(LT1) piece. Could be the 1969 is only referenced because the LT1 was supposed to be a 69 option. That would make all the pieces fit. Also the base and L-46's would have the same piece. The easiest way to tell I guess is the Q-jet pulls down, the Holley pushes up, right? I just don't know which does which
Geez, all I want to do is get a thermo coil!
