Joe, the L/88 and ZL-1 option was in the notebook size sales and pricing guide that the dealers had. I was about to order an L/88 until I checked with my insurance agent, and every other agent in town. No one would insure me. ( I don't understand why with my "lilly White" record )

Cliff Gottlieb did license his 67 L88. He did not own a tow truck and trailer, he drove the car to several sports car tracks to race it and did well.

I have one of those books for several of the model years, including 1969. My copy does not show the L-88 or ZL-1 options for Corvette. There were, usually, several editions of this booklet during each model year. Mine has no date on it, so I don't know which point in the year it was issued. However, the L-88 and ZL-1 options were available from the beginning of the model year, so I would expect all editions of the book to have included them, if they were in any of the books.

When Jim Contes in the GM powertrain development team working at the Desert Proving Grounds in Mesa talked to our SW NCRS group last year before the introduction of the C6, he explained that many of these cars are crushed with the keys and buried in trenches inside the proving grounds for the very reason..... Joe, during that era I was in purchasing for a large private fleet. Chevrolet furnished us the same? books that they furnished the dealers. Had retail and cost prices. Somewhere he I still have the 1968 and 1969 books. I am very sure that the book that I have has the two options. I did find a worksheet where I had figured a new 1969 L/88. Had retail and cost figures
