presently my 67 had 7.75 x 15 bias ply tires. I don`t like how the car runs on these tires and am therefore intending to buy some radial tires. Both 215/65/15 and 215/70/15 have been reecomended. I would appreciate any input the the tire sizing. intend to leave the bias plys on aluminum rims for judging and to put the radials on rally wheels for recreational driving. Thanks in advance for any input.

Re: tires / 1967
Richard - For me, I have Bridgestone radial 205/75's on my SB '67 conv., and they perform wonderfully, i.e. good traction; superb cornering; no fender rubs.
They track exactly as my 7.75's did with respect to speedo.
However, they won't fit the spare tire tub. For that, you'll have to go down a size or two.
Good luck.

Re: tires / 1967
Richard:
215-70R/15 is the proper modern replacement for 7.75-15 . It supposedly has a very similar circumference to the old bias ply, and so has very similar revs/mile, thus no speedo error.
The 65 series probably look better (IMHO) but they will be lower, and give you a 'fast' speedometer.
Tire retail websites, like Tire Rack, all have links to spec lists, where you can compare revs/mile and other info. Just remember to use the 215-70R/15 as your datum point.

Put a set of redlines on my 67 and they look great on ralley wheels. I think they are slightly larger in diameter and you may be running faster then your speedo indicates. They fit in my spare tire compartment but it does not close all the way. About a 3/4" gap at the back.
