    C1 headlights

I just purchased a set of frt. headlight bucket harness for my 57 (?)
I know I have to take off the front chrome ring, but what holds the actual head light in place I don't want to turn the wrong screws and end up having to get the lights realigned I need to take it out in hook up the new harness thanks

    Paul...

The headlight bulb is held in/mounted to a bucket assembly that mounts to the body. The harness is installed thru the rear of the bucket.

are you saying that I take this (bucket) out from the back i.e. up under the fender well and the bulb will be in the bucket is that how one would always remove the bulb if for say it burned out, if so, my (bucket) looks like it has never been out is there bolts/nuts on back side that I remove if so as I ask before when the bulb is put back in bucket will it have to be realigned

Remove the headlight cover from the car body with the four screws. Two screws hold the stainless rim around the actual headlight with a spring holding the other of three spots. Remove the two screws. The stainless will swing forward with the spring holding the stainless to the headlight bucket. This will allow you to remove the headlight and disconnect the harness on the rear of the light. Reverse procedure to reinstall. You will not alter the headlight aiming.
