    65 C2 Wiper Blades/Trico & Day/night Mirror

I am looking for some good original or quality Trico stainless wiper blade holders and blades. Any recommendations as to a good place to look and what I might pay? Reproductions or originals?

Also looking for a day/night mirror for my '65 and need to know where to get one and what is reasonable. Are there any good reproductions out there that are worth anything?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Used original Trico wiper blade holders routinely sell for $30-60 a pair on eBay. The difference is how many are bidding on them, how good they are (will you have to polish forever with SS rouge to get scratches/pit out?), and whether or not the blade holders contain the original latch-lock rubber rails...

If they DO have the original latch lock rails, then it's simply a matter of buying Paragon's 'rubber only' blade refills and 'snaking' them into the original latch lock rails to complete a restoration having 'dotted' rubber on the blades ($25). If they don't have the latch lock rails, then you've got two choices:

      (1) Walk scrap yards until you find a set of original 15-inch blades/refills that have the latch lock rails with deteriorated rubber (same setup was used on various small window Chevys (e.g. Nova) and the 'competition' (e.g. Mustang)....

      (2) Pay 'bend over' prices for a set of NOS Trico RF-15 refills or whole blood blades still new in box ($50-200) as they do come up on eBay from time to time but you have to know what you're shopping for and what the seller is offering.

On the D/N mirror, Paragon offers several alternatives: (1) rebuild your existing mirror, (2) sell you a rebuilt used original, or (3) sell you their reproduction. I haven't seen their reproduction, so I can't say how close it is to a factory original from the era. Might differ in terms of font/placement for the GUIDE emboss at the top of the case.

You can also go 'shopping' for a used original as these mirrors were NOT unique to Corvette! Just about every GM passenger car from the era with NARROW window (Corvair, Nova, Skylark, Etc.) used the same 'shortie' Guide mirror which is typically the source for the 'Corvette' mirrors we see on eBay for auction....
