I just bought a '65 327/365. It only has 49,000 original miles and almost no restoration except for the interior. I am looking for a good restoration shop in Houston. Any suggestions?

Re: C2 - Restoration in Houston
If the car's in pretty decent condition, as is, why not do NOTHING and consider campaigning it as an un-restored car? These are rarer than restored cars and both NCRS and NCCB/Bloomington have separate judging categories for them. At NCRS, the system is called Star/Bowtie and at Bloomington it's called Survivor.... Once you start fixing/changing things, you essentially close the door (forever) to these award categories!- Top

Re: C2 - Restoration in Houston
Ian,
I agree with Jack's comments completely. At some point it will be harder to find nice, original, mostly unrestored cars, than restored..I've also closely inspected cars restored by Nabers and they are of the highest quality. Good luck with your project...- Top

Re: C2 - Restoration in Houston
Consider Houston Corvette Service, located near the intersection of Clay and Gessner. We have been in business for almost 15 years, with many NCRS cars to our credit. We are willing to do "less" than a frame off if the car deserves to be preserved. Call or check out our website, www.houston-corvette.com

Re: C2 - Restoration in Houston
Before you do anything to the car, I would suggest you bring it to the Waco Regional Meet in Oct. Might be worth having some people lookit over before you spend any money. if it is a nice unrestored car, the Bowtie is the way to go. Lots of nice cars have been "ruined" by over restoring for flight judging before Bowtie judging. New driveline has Waco registration forms. ken- Top
