    63 Vette wiring??

I am haveing trouble with my 63 wiring. No radio, fan or turn signals flasher. Wipers lights and everything else works. I do not have 12volts at the fuse block for fan and radio. Is it the fan resister? If so where is the resistor or do I have a wiring issue?

The fan resistor in not in use on high blower, so if you have no blower at all, the problem likely is somewhere else. The only point where all these circuits come together seems to be at the accessory feed off the back of the ignition switch. check for 12V at this point with the key on and see where you are. Ther are lots of possibilities, so start there and we'll work from there. If 12V with the key on at that point, the next step will be the fuseblock, but look for power at the switch as a starting point. You will be ckecking the brown 16 gauge wire at the switch, remember to have the switch turned on.

I found brown wires burnt open and fused together, just outside the firewall leading to the wiper motor. I jumpered a wire to the fuse block and to the wiper motor from the accessory position on the ignition switch and everything works now. Will this be ok to leave as is or should I replace the engine and dash harness? Has anyone replaced thease harnesses in a runing car? I have done it during a restoration, but not for mantinence.

The brown wire runs from the switch to a splice in the Instrument Panel harness, so I would at least pull the IP wiring and check it thoroughly. You may find more damage. It is some work, but the harness can be pulled without too much difficulty, have to pull the gauge cluster and the glovebox.
