    C2 Distributor judging...hole, no hole

Confused as usual...tach drive distributer with part no. 1111196 (67 350hp) and 5B7 (Feb 7, 1965) date. Hummm....67 application with a 65 build date??????? No comprendo!... Any theories...?

Also, 1965 JM states originals did not have a HOLE in the casting opposite the tack drive. This one does... Hole no hole...what's the deal? When did the casting hole come in?

    Thanks

I would guess the casting is from a later year since it has the hole, or has been modified. The band was probaby a repro band someone gave the P/N and date code.....and voila.....there you go!....Craig

      somebody drilled a hole

very common especially before numbers mattered to drill a hole like the later ones and insert a bushing to limit wear on the inside of the case.

Thanks Craig, but wouldn't make sense in this application, since the car is a 65 SHP...why resto a 67 band on it? Anyhow, who knows?

I can hear the cringing, but anybody ever epoxy over the hole?

          Thanks!

            Jim,

I was thinking someone resto'ed it for a 67, but later stuck it in your 65.....hard to say, but doubtful original.......Craig
