I just removed the seat belts from my early 68 convertible and found some confusing information.
Where can I turn to to find the correct Model # for the seat belt on my vehicle. The build sheet on my tank indicates this was a 9/67 car. Following is the info from my belts that is causing my confusion.
The "female" side of both belts is Model #C11 with build code of 39E67. I beleive the tags stitched to these belts are original and that the belts are original to my car. The release button on my buckles is the GM Mark of Excellence logo not the Chevrolet bowtie. Interior color is medium blue.
On the other hand the "male" side of both belts appears to be a repair. First there is a "not professional stitching" seam joining two belt parts about 3" from the retractor loop. Not visible until the belt is disassembled. The labels on these belts have model #130 with build codes of 3E68 and 51E68. Both well after my car would have been on it's way to a Dealer.
I have read Jerry Fuccillo's post on the buckle restoration and I eagerly await his effort on the retractor end.
