    Paint

I am getting ready to take my 63 SWC to my painter. I am planning to use PPG BC/CC. Sebring silver.
The question is: What is the PPG sebring silver code? What is the best sebring silver paint to use, in order to get the best color match ? Is there another manufacturer, who produces a "closer" sebring silver match ?
I am aware, that when painting, one should stay with the same manufacturer from start to finish, and I should have raised the question earlier.
I have used so far: PPG seal coat over bare fiber glass, (3) coats of primer filler, with wet sanding in between. I was planning on having my painter take it from here, with (1) more coat of primer filler, final wet sand, seal coat, then BC/CC.
    Any thoughts ?

the original lacquer paint code is #941 but if you are going to switch to BC/CC than that paint code is next to worthless for you.
If you contact PPG at Autocolorlibrary.com they should be able to mix up Sebring Silver for you in BC/CC. Do not allow them to pass off an offset color though - they can do it without offsets if you insist.
I had to go thru Autocolorlibrary to get the correct Milano Maroon paint in BC/CC for my '65 coupe 2 months ago and it took them a while to get the shade correct. We had to wait 7 weeks total because of a succession of wrong tints and shades and metallic levels but they finally got it correct. If I had stayed with lacquer it would have been a breeze as I had gotten a pint of the lacquer mixed last summer and they got it right first time around, but trying to get the correct shade using the BC/CC paints was very difficult.

      good luck
