C3, 1972 Front Side Marker Lights

What is the wording on the front side marker lights that is specific to the year of the car? Something like Guide 72 SAE? What is considered NCRS correct? Where besides eBay is a good source to purchase these?

according to the 70-72 judging manual, all '72 side marker lamps use amber colored lenses. nothng about stamping...the manual also refers to "guide 19 sae st 170" on the tail and back up lights for a '70. sorry not much help here.

Scott, the revised version of the JG will read as follows:

Side marker lamps were rectangular die-cast aluminum alloy, not plastic as later models were. The front side lenses are amber, while the rear side lenses are red. All lenses have SAE API 70 and then LH or RH cast in them.

There are correct reproductions of these available. One of the best is from Trim Parts in Ohio.

Reba is correct in the wording. They also have a Chevy " bow tie" on one end and a Hexogon with the letter "S" inside it, on the other side of the wording.
