I have seen many 1966 parking brake brackets (where the parking brake handle mounts to the underside of the dash) with about a 3/4 inch hole in the upper left hand corner. I have also seen many without the hole. Could somebody please comment on this. Is this hole original ?? What was it used for - perhaps the hazard warning system ?? Which is correct hole or no hole. Thanks in advance.

Re: 66 Parking Brake Bracket - Hole
Jack -- as always thanks for the response. The reason I am unsure is because my AIM describes the hole for the hazard warning switch as being drilled in the center of the bracket about 2 inches above the center of the handle. I cant think of anything else it could be used for and I have seen too many of them with the hole I mention to be made by the previous owner. This was a New York delivery car from day one so it would have had the hazard warning from the factory.- Top
