Corvette Day @ Larz Anderson Trans. Museum last week....I'm a C1 owner ('58) and have never seen one of the original 300...but,there it was, unmolested 1953 with just 47,000 miles..could not believe my eyes. NCRS 5 star (maybe it was 4) bow tie winner...car #47! walked around it at least 30 times...my wife says I need help.THEN!!,...talking with owner I discover he lives just down the street!!!!!
You never know what lurks inside a man's garage!!

1953 Corvette

I was also at Larz Anderson last week. The car your speaking about has an interesting history. I spoke to the owner about it a couple of years ago. The car is very original, even the tires are original (they were recapped). I think the owner said he found the car in Arizona in excellent condition. The only the change made to the original car was to replace the factory top with a white top due to the hot Arizona weather. The current owner has replaced the top with a correct black one. He started the car up and drove it out of the trailer and it runs well. It's a shame the car can't be driven regularly but it's really a display peice now.
