C2 Trim Plate - Shift Lever

    Members,
I would like to remove the ash tray trim plate from my '65 with automatic transmission.

It is not clear to me, from the AIM, how to remove the shift lever so that the trim panel can be lifted upward over the ball.

As always, all advice is sincerely appreciated.

    Regards,
    Gene

    Gene-----

I think that the shifter knob has to be first removed. I don't know a lot about these Powerglide shifters, but I think that the knob screws off. I'm not certain of that, though.

      Gene:

The knob should unscrew by turning it counter-clockwise.
