There was a thread here this week on getting the tach cable end thru the small hole in the seal. I mentioned using a socket but this was not possible when already mounted in the car. A metal cone was also mentioned but I do not have a way of making this.
So I made one out of wood on a lathe. It worked great. I wrapped it with duct tape. I pushed the cone in from under the hood and then I went inside the car to show my wife how to pull the rope while I push from under the hood. As I was snugging up the rope it pulled right thru.
