I am in the process of rebuilding the clutch/transmission for my 67 327/350 and want to know if anyone can help me identify if I have the correct clutch release fork for my car. I read the article in the fall 1999 issure of the Restorer by Mike McCagh and am unsure that I have the correct part. My fork has an approximate overall length of about 10 9/16", which according to the article would be correct for 65 thru 65 models. My release fork has a no numbers stamped on it so I m not sure about anything. Any help would be appreciated. If I do have the incorrect part does anyone know if it is available through GM?

Re: Clutch release fork
Craig, I think all the clutch forks for 64-67 measure the same. Your measurement sounds about right, but I don't have one in front of me to conferm. I can't say as to availabitity from GM. But Corvette jobbers sell them.- Top

Re: Clutch release fork
Craig-----
The correct clutch release fork for all 1964-81 Corvettes is GM #3887177. This is a 1964 or 1965-issued part number, so it's a good bet that this part has been used essentially unchanged throughout the years. It is still available from GM for a list price of $33.25. This part has no part number permanently stamped on the part. Sometimes, the service part will be found with a yellow printed part number on the part. Usually, in the new condition, the part will have a white GM parts label with black lettering with the part number and group number (0.795)included.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
