Kelsey GY tire in a 62 spare tub.

Well my car is back on the road again and it was a hot day today. My 4 year old fell asleep in the passenger seat and we filled up with $$$$$ racing fuel. Next tank I will try 1/2 premium. BUT:

    Two items

The original sized Kelsey tires hold the cover up about a 1/2" or so. So these tires also seem to be wider than the originals. Could let some air out and see what happens.

2-It seemed to be missing/stumbling at around town steady speed. When I got back in I looked at the glass filter and the gas was just touching the bottom of the filter. This was with the car running. I could see the gas going into the cup. Later, after it cooled I see that the cup is filled to the top. Could this be the problem?

    thanks, Chris

Any repro tire will not fit so that the tire will not allow the board to sit flat
Gas bowl no problem , just trapped air ( loosen the bowl air will leave filling it as the engine is running))

Chris, About 12# of air +/- will make your...

...spare and plywood cover pretty happy. Give it a try. Dennis

Thanks Roy, it filled itself back up after cooling down. I will try again and see what happens.

Re: C1 Glass Bowl Fuel Filter

Is air in the bowl a problem? I've been driving around for a couple of years with the bowl only 1/3 to 1/2 full of gas. Is it supposed to be filled to the top?

Chris That is the idea and how the filter works, you just have traped air.

That's the way it works - doesn't have to look "full"; stop looking at the glass bowl and just drive the car and enjoy it
