Re: weather stripping for 72 Corvette
Craig-----
GM is best, but much of it for a 1972 is discontinued. Dr. Rebuild has excellent weatherstripping. The good doctor has evaluated most of this stuff that's available and selected the best that's out there. He also has a lot of NOS GM weatherstrip although, obviously, it costs more than the reproduction. Even before it was discontinued, GM weatherstrip was WAY more expensive than aftermarket and the "price differential" increases even more after it's discontinued. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: weather stripping for 72 Corvette
AFAIK, there are only 2 manufacturers of Corvette weatherstrip. There is Corvette Rubber, in Cadillac, MI and there is Metro Molded Parts, which I think is in MN.
So, short of GM weatherstrip (which can, on rare occasion, be seen on eBay) those are your options. The catalog companies are selling you one of those two options.
