Fuel pumps

Just getting the '62' back together after some engine/head rework, and engine comparment detailing, and was just about to rebuild the fuel pump when I began to question whether it is the right one or not. (Was running fine when shut down so works, but would like it to be correct). Are there any serial or part numbers on these pumps? The only thing I see is the typical "AC" on the bottom of it.

should haf 4756 stamped on the side of the flange where it mounts to the block, also underneath on the boss where the bottom and top bolt together it has AC made in USA as I recall.

I hate to disagree with my good friend Bill--in fact, I'm probably not disagreeing, but correcting his typing--should be 4656--on the upper flange that faces the front of the car when installed. Generally there is a casting line, and the 4656 is stamped on that line, and the four numerals are not in perfect alignment.

Thanks for the help Bill and Mike. It's either the wrong one or someone got so zealous in their cleaning at some point in time that they wore the number plumb off!
