Starter questions 1960

Can someone id this starter for me? Delco-Remy #1107694,it has Solenoid #1119919, with date of DEC 30 1959.It was mounted on my 1960, but does not have the right mounting nose on it. Can I save the casing, stater,end bell, and rotor and mount a correct nose on it? Also the 1958-1960 TIM says that only cars equipped with Powerglide have metal brace on front of starter, why only Powerglide? The end bell on this starter does not have the extended bolt for the metal bracket. Wish I knew how to send picture, but don't understand all that URL stuff.

The application for your starter is 1960 283 with Turboglide trans.

Steven, The starter is not for sale, but thanks for asking. I think (hope) I can change the nose on it and make a proper starter for my car. Nobody has responded to that question yet. Thanks to you and Bill Clupper for your responses.

Proper is a relative term in this case, if you mean willit work, the answer is yes, is it proper as in Correct for a restoration, the answer is no.

Dale, it would be cheaper and easier to buy the correct one. These are faily common
