1957 History Search - Ohio

I currently own a 1957 Corvette s/n E57S101335, which I've had for 22 years and is an original fulie car.
Many times have I attempted to trace the history of this car without complete success.
This vehicle resides with me in Canada, however, it came across the border in 1973 from Ohio. I have all the Canadian owners documented. The previous Ohio plate/registration per the old Ontario Motor Vehicle Permit is 090350 or 09035078 ( unclear documentation)
I have had no success at getting any info from the DMV in Ohio.
Can anyone help ????

Unfortunately, Ohio is not centralized with respect to title registry, the only way to go thru titles in ohio is to deal with the local (County) title bureau in the county where it was titled. They may or may not be helpful in that regard.

Given all the privacy legislation in place in the U.S., these searches are all but impossible now. Even people who might have had an "in" somewhere to obtain vehicle records are reluctant to do so, as the fines can be stiff.

Many of the county title offices were Mom & Pop operations that were often directly related to how they served in the last election. If you are lucky enough to have an office that managed to stay in charge over many years, they might have records back. But odds are they may not have survived to the more uniformed and official offices of today.

Also, as was mentioned, the privacy laws pretty well do in all of this anymore.
