    POR-15 engine paint application quest.

I recently bought the POR-15 paint kit to paint my engine.

Im sure there has to be a few people on here that have painted their engine with this stuff. From what I hear and read, its good stuff.

So my question would be is it better to spray it on or paint it with a brush? I talked to the people at por-15 and they said either can be done because it is self leveling.

I have the ability to do either. It would be a whole lot easier and cleaner to paint it on with a brush. But im thinking it would be a better job if I sprayed it.

Id like to get your opinion on it.

Has anyone ever applied it with a brush and had good results?

    Thanks
    Travis

It goes on too thick with a brush and flows too much on smooth engine parts, like a thermostat housing. But for the rough parts like the intake manifold and engine block, the brush works well. Otherwise spray on smooth parts. It takes a long time to cure, and you might try the small parts in the wifes' oven, when she is not around.

Is Cavalcade Best of Show good enough results?

I used a variety of brushes to achieve this paint job in the car, from a 1" to a small detailing brush. Virtually no brush marks on stamped or machined surfaces, I used the paint full-strength straight out of the can.
