Maybe I can help, I have the Merc LT-5 assembly manual and as you can guess it is a much different animal than the GM AIM's. What exactly do you need?

art: i have a 95 crate LT 5 engine. it came with it's engine wiring harness attached to the engine(just as it was recieved in bowling green from stillwater). if you look in the 1995 service manual, page 6D5-8, you'll see that item # 9 is the instrument panel harness. do you have an illustration that identifies the wires in the engine harness portion that connects to Item # 9 ? thanks much, mikeComment

The 1995 Service Manual I have does not have a 6D5-8 section????? I'm trying to pinpoint what you need.

is your 95 service manual vol 1 or vol 11. the page or section 6D5-8 is in vol one of the 1995 service manual.in the 1990 service manual, # 42 is what i need id of all the wires in it--color, function etc. thanks, mikeComment

Actually mine is a PRELIMINARY manual and therefore not much help for your information------sorry. I have take a secomd look at my Merc LT-5 assembly for the requested info and it doesn't give as much detail as the Chevy AIM's so again it looks like we are out of luck.

OK Mike, lets try this another way!
I have the 1994 Service Manual # 1 & #2 and it has section 6D5-8, but it only has 21 items listed. What is the name of the item your are looking for? The lead page of 6D5 says to go to 8A for details, 8A is in book # 2, which I have and can look it up for you.

art: i don't have the 1994 serv man but the 95 serv manual only has 21 items also so i suspect the 94 man you have will do. On 95 6D5-8, item # 9 is spelled out as the harness " to instrument panel". what i need is the contents(color gauge function) of the wires in the engine main harness that are contained within that part of the engine harness that plugs into # 9. i suspect that the color, gauge and function of the wires within # 9 would be identical to those within the engine harness potion that plugs into # 9 but not sure so if you have a diagram of # 9 , thal would be better than what i have now(nothing). thanks mikeComment

I think what you are looking for is in book #2 of either the 94 and/or 95 Service manual section 8A-202. There are soooo many connectors it's mind boggling and a person would have to look back and forth.There are 33 pages to section 8A-202 so I think only you can determine what you need. If you don't have book #2 I can send it to you. It is not in color, but it calls out the colors such as BLK,WHT,PNK,RED, etc.
Your request brings back a story about Corvette Wiring diagrams which is so appropriate here. The Corvette Electrical Engineer came to my office and asked if I could find him the 1953 Corvette Wiring diagram so he could use it in a meeting as a visual comparison. This was during the C5 development stages and GM was hot on the subject of why it took us so long to design/engineer/build a vehicle. GM was using the mid 50s as a bench mark because they were putting out a NEW vehicle almost each year-----so why can't we do it today! The EE wanted to put the actual full size drawings of the 1953 and C5 wiring diagrams on the conference room walls where the meeting was held. The full size 1953 wiring diagram was about 3 feet tall and about 4 feet long----the C5 wiring diagram was about 52 inches tall and about 40 feet long and raped about half way around the room. He made his point!
