1966 odometer trip cable bracket

hello, wise ones.
my trip odometer cables hangs freely under my dashboard.
I bought the bracket, but it does not seem to line up with the bolts jutting out below my steering column. I need tips on how to install the bracket and attach the cable. Thanks. Rich Weddle

Did you buy the right bracket? They are different for telescoping vs standard column
