    68 on ebay..VIN?

Item 4549382780 is a nice looking 68 that has bid up to 44K. The warranty book and POP in the picture show a VIN of 164698J209965. There is no mention of the VIN anywhere else. That's not a 68 Corvette VIN, Right?

You need a pop for judging purposes as part of the owners delivery kit. Many people that do not have a pop just use another from a passanger car of that year as they are more available.

You may use another car line's POP, but it will not receive full credit because VINs don't match. The JG states it must have matching VIN.

The judging manual now states that they must match in the third edition but it didn't in the second edition. Cars that have been judged before that wouldn't have rec'd a deduction although they will now. Thats why I guess the pop doesn't match the car.

Thanks for the info. I thought it odd that the wrong POP could be acceptable for judging. I guess enough people got through that loop hole so the powers that be closed it.

Wrong does not get full credit. It differs from what one would normally expect to see. Depending on what the deviation is an equal deduction of points are taken

I guess I'll never understand, but that's ok. I'm catholic and am trained to believe things I can't understand. It seems to me there is one and only one POP and warranty book appropiate for each car. Sort of black or white, just like if the trim tag says red and the car is blue. If I have a completely wrong alternator on my car but it has the right date code, is that a full or partial deduction?..(real question.)
