    Tie rod ends

Once the tie rod ends are threaded into the tie rod (one end right hand threads, one end left hand threads), does it make any difference which end goes into the steering knuckle and which end goes into the center link?

    Steve----

From a strictly functional perspective, it does not. The only thing that changes when the tie rods are "swapped end-for-end" is the direction that the sleeves (tubes) need to be turned to expand or contract. However, the tie rod assemblies were originally installed with the right hand thread ends at the OUTER position on BOTH sides.

The outer tie rod ends were often marked with a daub of YELLOW inspection dye. The inner rod ends were often marked with a daub of BLUE inspection dye.
