67 ralley wheel black paint

Hello everyone,

67 wheels painted in what finish in black? also, entire wheel black first or just back side? anyone silver overspray thru wheel openings onto backside correct?
Anyone have any silver argent green paint they wish to sell?

Tony -

They were dip-primed semi-gloss black, then sprayed argent silver from the front side only, some overspray went through the holes onto the back side.

Hi Tony:

I'm about to refinish my 67 rally wheels. I had heard about the green-silver Argent silver that was used for certain years, so I posted a question to this Board about a month ago. The response was that the Argent Silver used in 1967 was *not* the green-silver variety used in some later years. The silver-silver version was used in 1967.

The 67 TIM&JG lists Dupont paint code 9692L, but I'm told this is a lacquer paint that is no longer available.

I just purchased a can of Argent Silver from Eastwood and another from Long Island Corvette. Both were suggested to me by people who had used them. This weekend I plan to paint some samples with each and see which one looks best. I can let you know what I think if you want.
