    1960 Windshield gap?

I'm replacing my windshield & gasket. I purchased a dated windshield from O.E.M. Glass, Inc. and the gasket from Corvette Rubber. After putting everything together the top center channel has a gap (passenger side) of about a half an inch. When everything is tighten up the top channel is bowed away from the windshield. It's possible that I twisted the top channel (I tend to be the big hammer type) when I was taking it apart. How much of a gap/play should I have in that area? Any help would be appreciated.

    Jim...

Trust that you have the upper windshield molding butted up against the windshield posts both sides! (the trim should overlap by about an inch both sides) Check the location of the upper nut plates, for there should be no pressure on the channel that would bow it.
