Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that responded to my request. My friend Paul and I used the suggestion from Joe. Using a 2x4 with another section of 2x4 nailed across the top to distribute the load across the ceiling joists we placed the floor jack under one end of the spring with a c-clamp on the leaf to prevent the jack from sliding up the leaf. A small block of wood between the c-clamp and the point where the jack made contact with the lower leaf also helped secure the jack under the leaf. We slowly jacked the spring into position with no problem and bolted the trailing arm to the spring. This is what makes the NCRS great.
