    C1 wheel info help needed

I have just replaced my 62 wheels. In finding these I learned a little bit about C1 wheels. I could find no chart that has all the latest info on the wheels so I put one together. I need some help filling it out for previous years. I have info from this message board, Nolands book and Colvins books. they do not all agree. I only have the AIM and JGM for '62. I also have a 10 wheels which run the gamut from a '53 to welded w/ and w/o dogbones and riveted.

-what p/n was used on '56/'57 (from AIM's?)

-what years were the dogbone cut outs in the wheels ('58/'59?) and are these called out in the JGM for those years?

-what is called out for '56-'60 in the JGM's for welded or riveted?

    Thanks, Chris

Re: C1 wheel info help needed

Chris, I don't know if you have any info on the 53 and 54 wheels but here is some (probably not accurate). I think the 49 to 51 chevy passenger wheels are nearly or exactly the same as the 53/54 wheels. Believe the passenger car wheels had five small hubcap brackets riveted to center section. Once removed, they look just like Corvette wheels to me. They are a totally different design from later wheels missing inner dogbones and outer nibs. I bought six passenger wheels for what one "Corvette" wheel would sell for. They were a cheap fit so that on can do my 58 chassis restoration and later local driving with.

Bill, your info agrees with mine except per Noland the 54 wheel looks like the later ones except no double hump (pg. 75). If this is incorrect please let me know. I do have one of the '53 type wheels with the center hub holes.

It also looks like '53-'57 passenger wheels also would fit but I have not confirmed that they are the same. I have no data before '53 on passenger wheels.
