Now the kids are to bed, here's the aircleaner lid, in all its glory. It's got the nice little brass grommet, but there are more than a few dings, and I can guar-an-tee that I'd just make it worse. Given the significant # of points given to the air cleaner, is there anyone that will re-work these to flatten the dings? The lid has clearly been cleaned up but I wonder whether the expertise exists to make it flat again and polish it out without overdoing the shinyness?
(PS- ignore the cookies in the upper right corner!)
I have also included a link to a shot of the underside, and there's (obviously) no fiber material under the flame arrestor. I'm probably hallucinating (or it's wishful thinking) but I swear I read somewhere that the '62's didn't have the fiber?
